Customer Support Engineer - Radar Systems

Description:
We are looking for an engineer to join our customer support team. You will provide problem-solving and technical support to our worldwide customers using our radar processing products. You may have a background in software development or perhaps some aspects of radar in a maritime or military environment, but you will need a broad-base of first-class technical skills to provide the level of support that our customers expect.
In applications of radar from commercial shipping, security, military, and air traffic control, you will help customers get the best from our software and hardware products. This will involve assisting with networking, software configuration and signal interfacing. You'll likely have an engineering, maths or physics degree, or equivalent experience, with proven practical skills and an enthusiasm to work with customers and develop relationships. You will take ownership of customer problems and work with them and our engineering team to provide timely solutions.
Key requirements
- You'll likely have a engineering, maths or physics degree or equivalent training.
- You will have several years of experience in a technical role, such as development or technical sales.
- You'll need a broad technical knowledge spanning at least some of networking, hardware interfacing and software.
- Some software development experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux systems an advantage.
- Some knowledge of radar or video systems preferred.
- Logical approach to problem solving.
- You will enjoy customer contact.
- You will be able to take ownership of problems.
- Occasional travel to customer sites in UK and overseas.

Systems Engineer

Founded in 2007, Cambridge Pixel is an established developer of specialist software and hardware products for radar and video processing and display, with applications in commercial shipping, drone detection, air traffic control, and defense markets. We are an employee-owned company as of 2020, meaning employees are the owners of the business and are able to share in the benefits.
We are now looking to expand our team with a Systems Engineer with experience in our markets and some knowledge of radar applications. We are a small company and we are looking for a key individual who can bring a range of skills. You must be prepared to learn quickly, work flexibility, accurately and adaptively. You will contribute across a number of business areas including pre-sales system design, production engineering and customer support. Some short-term international travel to customer sites for sales work, exhibitions, system installation and training is expected.
We are ideally looking for experience in our markets, but we will also consider a less experienced applicant who can demonstrate the right level of enthusiasm, interest and commitment to learning.

Software / Systems Engineer

We are looking to expand our team with a Software/Systems Engineer with proven capabilities in the design and implementation of complex display solutions, based on C++ or .NET programming in Windows or Linux.
We are looking for a key individual who can bring a range of skills. You must have several years of relevant commercial experience, ideally in a similar business, be prepared to learn quickly, flexibly, adaptively and contribute across a number of business areas including software development, sales support and customer support. As a software developer, you will be involved in a wide-range of project activities including interfacing to radars and cameras, developing algorithms, system integration and building user-interfaces. You will also provide technical support into the sales process, support customers using our products and be prepared to travel to customer sites to provide technical expertise. The multi-faceted nature of the role offers challenges, learning opportunities and excitement to the right candidate.
