Cambridge Pixel has won a contract to supply Lockheed Martin, UK with key radar processing components for a major UK Royal Navy navigation radar upgrade programme. Lockheed Martin has been awarded the contract to upgrade the navigation radars on more than 60 Royal Navy ships, submarines and shore facilities.

Over the next five years existing radars will be replaced with Kelvin Hughes' SharpEye™ radars. Cambridge Pixel's scope of supply covers: target tracking, track fusion, radar video distribution and display.

SPx Server Tracking Enhancements

SPx Server's target tracking capability is enhanced in V1.72 with the addition of model-based tracking (MBT). The new MBT works alongside the existing multi-hypothesis tracker (MHT) to add enhanced capabilities for small target detection and multiple models that operate concurrently on the same radar data.

A new method of automatic track initiation permits very large numbers of small plots to be considered to identify weak targets in clutter. The multi-model approach permits different parameter sets to be applied to the same data, allowing the tracking process to be optimally configured for specific classes of targets of interest. USVx Standalone Mode

Cambridge Pixel's USVx maritime radar display client is now available as a standalone client display application. The original version, designed for unmanned surface vehicle applications, has now been extended so that it can be used purely as a receiving client, for display of network radar video and track data.

USVx is also available as a framework package, providing the top-level application source code and allowing developers to customise the application. The framework package provides an excellent starting point for a custom radar display application and can significantly reduce development time/cost.
