 Cambridge Pixel Shows and News

Cambridge Pixel exhibited at the DSEI show in London

during September and then at the Naval and Defence show in Busan, South Korea in October.

In October we were visited by Heidi Allen, MP for South Cambridgeshire, who came to see our radar processing solutions and offer her congratulations for our recent Queen's award.

New Customer Web Site

This month we are announcing a new Customer section of our web site. The Customer section will require a user name and password and will then provide access to:

  • Application notes
  • Software Versions
  • Training Material, including videos
  • Presentations
The new content is accessible from the Customers menu on the right-hand side of the top-level toolbar.

You will need a customer login and password - please contact Cambridge Pixel if you an existing user of any Cambridge Pixel software product.
For all new software we will be providing the login details with the license certificate. We are working on expanding the content with additional product videos. Please let us know if you have any requests for content you would like to see here.
VSD Software Aids Airport Threat Detection

Cambridge Pixel's VSD software provides integrated radar and video processing capabilities that combine primary radar, ADS-B and camera videos to aid threat
detection at airports. Aircraft and other vehicles may transmit ADS-B signals when on the ground. The ADS-B messages contain GPS-derived positions and other information allowing the target to be identified. When a primary radar is used to detect potential threats, known-good targets observed on ADS-B can be removed from consideration. The remaining targets, being visible to primary radar but not ADS-B, are then potentially of interest and an alarm can be used to automatically slew a camera and display and record the video.
The VSD software supports the display and processing of primary radar, ADS-B and camera video, allowing threats to be detected and displayed.

The VSD software is compatible with a wide range of primary radar sensors and can support multiple radars and cameras to provide automatic detection, alarm generation and reporting of events of interests. For more information about VSD see here. A product overview video is available here.

The related SPx Radar Simulator software (more info here)
Cambridge Pixel's Radar Simulator can be coupled with a 3D model and video generator to generate H.264 simulated camera video in addition to radar video.
may be used to generate simulated scenarios of moving targets with primary and ADS-B signatures. Under development is an extension of this simulator to incorporate 3D models of objects and buildings that can be used to generate a synchronised simulation of H.264 camera video.
Support for Windows 10 and Visual Studio 2015
Cambridge Pixel is now supporting Windows 10 and, for developers, Visual Studio 2015 in its software products

With effect from 1st January 2016 we will be stopping support for Visual Studio 2005 and 2008. Any customers still developing under these versions of Visual Studio should contact Cambridge Pixel as soon as possible to plan a transition. Developer versions of SPx are available for Visual Studio 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015.
